PWINSIDER Q&A: KING OF THE RING, CM PUNK, CHRIS BENOIT, LASHLEY AND MORE

We have all noticed that Lashley now uses a running powerslam that as Tazz pointed out a couple weeks ago he calls it "The Dominator" and I might not be the first one to ask this but what happened to him using the original Dominator and if you folks knew why did he stop using it?

Lashley still has the original Dominator in his arsenal, but he now is favoring the running powerslam for his finisher, simply because it is seen as a more dynamic move and is easier to apply to larger opponents, since it is hard to apply the over-the-shoulder part of the Dominator on a large man.  To be honest, I'm not sure why it was being called the Dominator, since the announcers seem to have settled into calling it a running powerslam (which it is).

Also similar question about CM Punk, Do you know why has he started using the "Go to Sleep" Instead of the Anaconda Vice?

From what I understand, it was a WWE Creative decision that he should have an "impact finisher" that would result in pinfalls, rather than using the submission hold.  In all honesty, with the exception of Chris Benoit and John Cena (and prior to them, Kurt Angle) not a lot of top WWE stars use a submission hold as a finisher.

When Sunday Night Heat was on television (not on WWE.com) and was the pre-show for Wrestlemania, did the guys appearing on Heat get a Wrestlemania bonus (as far as money is concerned)?

Yes, if you wrestled on the show, you got a bonus.  However, the amount of the bonus, as always, was totally up to the WWE hierarchy.

With the reintroduction of King of the Ring tournament last year, and the recent decision to put all 3 brands on all ppvs, what are the odds of the KotR ppv reappearing and having wrestlers from all 3 brands compete for the crown?

Well, unless they change the name of a PPV, it won't be the name of a show in 2007.  However, I fully expect another King Of The Ring tournament, and for it to involve wrestlers from all three brands, most likely with the finals taking place on a PPV.

Seriously speaking, what are the chances Benoit will ever get another solid heavyweight title run?

Depends what you mean by "solid".  Right now, Benoit is pretty far away from the WWE Title picture.  However, he could easily be reincorporated into the top mix, and following Wrestlemania, he could be a believable challenger for Batista or Undertaker.  Could Benoit end up with a short title reign at some point?  Possibly.  Will he get another six-month run with the title?  Not the way things stand right now.
