Since WWE has decided to combine wrestlers from all 3 brands onto B-Show PPV's, do you see WWE getting rid of say their brand only PPV's like New Year's Revolution, Cyber Sunday and the ECW PPV's and just running one PPV a month instead of for a few months running 2 PPV's a month?
Absolutely not. It would take an astronomical drop in PPV buys before WWE would consider taking a show off the schedule. Much like the increase in PPV prices, the number of shows a year will only increase, never decrease. Unless WWE were to start losing money on the shows (and again, they are a long way from that happening), they will keep running them (and looking for ways to cram in more).
Do you think WWE is dropping the money moneywise with all of their old footage from say the NWA, AWA they they own? Why don't they put more of it out on DVD or have say the online 24/7 service be kind of like Napster where you pay a certain amount (say $10 a month) and be able to download various matches onto your computer with the WWE logo being on the video and also having a tracking number to make sure people don't share them on say a P2P service? Also why doesn't WWE having a podcast like TNA used to have where they have WWE news, hype their shows and also maybe have an interview with a superstar for example? Why did TNA stopping doing their Podcasts, I really enjoyed listening to them?
While I agree that WWE could be making better use of their tape library, in their defense they are really only now beginning to explore the potential of them. They tried the online "jukebox" and developed WWE 24/7, and have slowly been increasing the number of historical DVD releases. I think they are well on their way to utilizing the footage better, but it isn't something that will be perfect overnight. As for podcasts, it appears that Mobile technology is the new focus for both companies, as well as getting more people to visit their respective websites to see video footage.
With WWE recently announcing that they would be combining all three brands on every PPV, what does that mean for the ECW One Night Stand PPV? Are we really going to see RAW & Smackdown guys on there?
Yes, you will see Raw and Smackdown stars on the One Night Stand PPV, which really shouldn't be that shocking, considering last year's show had Edge, Randy Orton, Eugene and John Cena on it, none of whom were part of the ECW brand or the original ECW.
Why has the WWE gotten away from heels vs. faces? If you look at the current WWE picture, I could really only see maybe 4 REAL faces in the entire company. I don't mean someone that is a face simply because they are up against someone even more hated then they are. We have no "real American hero" type characters anymore, no Andre's (before he went bad, I mean the guy that waved to the crowd and had a smile on his face), we don't even have a Tito Santana anymore. All the "faces" do heelish things, so they aren't really faces. I look at someone like Bobby Lashley and I see someone that could pull off the true face character. He could be like Hogan and just be a flat out good guy, but they don't have them anymore. What happened?
Steve Austin happened. Basically, since the period where Steve Austin was the top star for WWE, there has been a change in the way babyface characters are presented, and the feeling is that a babyface has to have an "edginess" to them, otherwise the crowd will see them as being sappy and "not tough". The only real exceptions to that have been Lashley and Rey Mysterio. We're simply in a different era now.
How do you get ring side seats? I looked at ticketmaster to try and get seats to a show at ringside but they were not even an option. How do you find ringside seats for a show? Survivor Series is coming to South Florida in November and I want ringside, how do I get them?
It doesn't hurt to be part of the WWE travel club, but even then, it doesn't guarantee you getting ringside. In all honesty, you're talking about maybe 80 or so ringside seats and 10,000 people attending the show, so it will always be tough to get ringside, especially if it is a major event like Survivor Series.
