PWINSIDER Q&A: WHAT IF VINCE SCREWED DONALD TRUMP, THE DEMISE OF WSX ON MTV, MCMAHON AS A HEEL AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2007-03-13 10:33:00

What will happen if Vince screws Trump and has Lashley lie down to Umaga? Will Trump spit on Vince, and walk out? This must be answered before WrestleMania!

There's no chance of this happening. WWE would never dare even think about this. For one, the Trump appearance was set up as part of their NBC Universal relationship and if WWE did something to break their ill will, you could pretty much guarantee their TV shows would be off the air as soon as NBC could do so legally. Also, the second WWE deviated from the script, Trump would be gone from ringside so quick, you'd think he was really The Flash from DC Comics. He wouldn't put himself in any situation that was dangerous for him.

Last night, Vince McMahon got shoved over a table by Donald Trump. Doesn't that make him weak after all he's done to the top WWE stars?

No, I think if anything, it helps build interest in the match. One thing McMahon should be praised for and rarely gets credit for, is that he's willing to "show his ass" so to speak as a character and allow himself to be humiliated, be made a fool of, etc. Too many heels today care too much about being cool and cocky, but in the end, forget that they need to show some vulnerability in losing in order to make the babyfaces stronger. McMahon did that on Raw, in my opinion.

Whatever happened to the Carnage Crew from Ring of Honor?

Tony Devito is still wrestling on the Northeastern independent scene and HC Loc is playing in a band, but there's no plans right now for a reunion.

What caused the demise of Wrestling Society X? Was it a poor product or MTV?

I think the chaos that MTV is currently in had a lot to do with it, but the poor ratings didn't do anything to help its cause. They were placed against ECW and the ratings slipped every week. I'd gather that 99% of wrestling fans out there had no idea the show existed unless they found out about it online. MTV did nothing to market or promote the show even on their own network, similar to what TNN did when they had ECW. It was out there is a vacuum. Then, when MTV started cutting costs and killing off entire divisions, a wrestling show that had just debuted and had no following (not to mention was outside their forte) was hardly going to be a priority, so unfortunately for WSX producers Big Vision, it got shafted. Big Vision intends to shop around WSX to other outlets but I don't know what would be a good fit off the top of my head as the series was tailor made for MTV.

I was watching WWE 24/7 and I recently saw a music video on ECW with Tommy Dreamer, Mick Foley and Raven. Unfortunately, whatever the music was had been changed, so I was curious what the original song was?

The original song was Mad Season's "I Don't Know Anything".
