PWINSIDER Q&A: HOGAN KNOWS BEST, TRIPLE H, SEAN WALTMAN AND MORE

How did Sean Waltman, aka XPac, ever get to be so hated by the fans, and I don't mean as heel heat either? Please explain the term "XPac heat" and how it came to be.

The term is something Dave Scherer coined during an audio hotline a long time ago.  He (like many) just didn't enjoy Waltman's work, and said that he hated him, but not in a "heel heat" sort of way, where you are supposed to hate him and want to see the babyface beat him.  He hated Waltman in the "get off my TV" way.  Thus, the phrase was born, "XPac heat".  It's when you hate a performer and just want them to disappear.

I was reading a question about when Triple H recovers from his injury and eventually rejoins Shawn Michaels to continue on with DX, are there any plans to have another member added. What I was wondering was with MTV's Wrestling Society X being canceled, do you see WWE picking up again on X-Pac (Sean Waltman). DX is a nostalgia act, but it was also a "faction" back in the day. With just HHH and HBK, it is just a glorified tag team. X-Pac was known for being apart of DX as well. I don't think that anyone who wasn't involved in the past with DX should be included as a member, and obviously the former New Age Outlaws are with TNA, but why not bring back X-Pac to make DX a faction again? I am curious to what you think could and should happen.

I actually could see it happening.  Triple H has maintained a friendship with Waltman, and he did make an appearance at a WWE house show with DX.  Because of his WSX contract, he couldn't appear on WWE television, but once that situation is settled, I could see Triple H making it possible for Waltman to come back and get one more chance with the company.

I'm usually pretty good at predicting the cards for WreslteMania but this year just has me stumped. With people like Randy Orton, Carlito, Shelton Benjamin, Rob Van Dam, Chris Benoit, Kane and Ric Flair without a spot on the card, how do you see it shaping up? I was sure Edge and Orton would face each other and could possibly still happen and I figured Benoit would face Finlay but it doesn't seem to be shaping up that way.

At the time I write this, Rob Van Dam is in the ECW 8-Man Tag, and Kane is expected to face the Great Khali, while Chris Benoit will apparently defend the U.S. Title against MVP.  From your list, that leaves Orton, Benjamin, Flair and Carlito.  Orton, Flair and Carlito are going to wrestle on Raw for the final Money In The Bank spot, which I think Orton will end up taking.  I could see Flair and Carlito either wrestling each other, or teaming up against MNM.  As for Shelton Benjamin, things don't look good for him getting on the show at this point (which I think sucks), unless there is another multi-participant match added to the card. If it was up to me (and it's not) I wouldn't mind seeing Flair vs. Carlito and MNM vs. Benjamin & Haas on the show. But, I doubt that will happen.

Are there any plans to release Hogan Knows Best on DVD? It seems like a no brainer.

The show is available as a video download now, and I imagine it will be out on DVD in the future, as most VH-1 "celebreality" shows are.

Just out of curiosity, how much would Vince McMahon have to pay the wildlife company to get legal use for the WWF name on archive footage? Is there even a price at all? I just find it hard to believe that something cannot be worked out.

I've often wondered myself whether there is a number that Vince McMahon could put on a check to make the Wildlife Fund go away and get the WWF name back.  However, either the Wildlife Fund won't name a price, or Vince McMahon is willing to pay it, because otherwise Vince would have taken care of it and wouldn't have to waste time and money editing old videos.
