With Takeshi Morishima taking the ROH World Title back to Japan do you see ROH creating a new singles title for the guys to fight for while Morishima is out of the country? I think with there roster they should have a second singles title anyway.
In a way, the company already has one. Roderick Strong has been defending the Full Impact Pro title on ROH events, including on their UK events over the weekend. The plan, as written here on PWInsider.com a few months ago, has always been to make it something of a secondary belt. It should be noted that while Morishima is out of the country currently, he'll be working regularly for Ring of Honor, so it isn't like their championship will be gone for months at a time, either.
ROH has gone to England, but I don't think they've ever gone to the West Coast, so what's keeping them? The target audience is too small? The cost too much? Not enough interest?
I believe it's just that they have the infrastructure in place with Alex Shane, who does a lot of the legwork for the UK shows, and that they don't have someone on the West Coast at this point to do the same. It could also be that based on merchandise sales, they don't see an over the top interest from West Coast fans at this time. The top indy group out there is Pro Wrestling Guerrilla and I don't think they've drawn huge crowds for much of their existence, so it could be ROH doesn't see it as a worthy gamble at this time.
Aren't MTV and Viacom the people who operate SpikeTV? I know it's at least run by MTV...to me it's kind of weird and probably the first time in history or in a long time where a network and it's synergy have two different wrestling promotions on their channels, with TNA on SpikeTV and the now "canceled?" WSX on MTV...is this the case or has SpikeTV broken away from the VIACOM/MTV synergy?
SpikeTV is under the Viacom banner as well, but that doesn't mean they have any interest in picking up the WSX series. At this point, it appears MTV will run the final 6 episodes before making a determination. I don't see Spike as a possibility because they are solidly behind TNA.
If we all knew Steve Austin was the referee, why did WWE trot out Mick Foley, Shane McMahon, etc. What was the point?
You may have known Austin was the referee but a good part of the audience had no idea. WWE was simply using creative license to tease who it was going to be before getting the huge pop for Austin's announcement. It was a great segment and a lot of fun. WWE is really firing on all cylinders right now and it's a pleasure to watch.
I'm going through old ECW results and I see Raven had a team called the Broad Street Bullies. Who were they?
The Broad Street Bullies were local Philadelphia wrestlers Tony Stetson and Johnny Hotbody. They were with the original Tr-State Wrestling Association and then moved over to ECW when Tod Gordon formed it. Hotbody was actually ECW champion early in the company's existence. They were brought back for a short run during the early part of Raven's run. Hotbody later left and Stetson took on the Bullies name for himself, wrestling in a Philadelphia Flyers jersey while working opening matches.
