PWINSIDER Q&A: WWE LEGENDS IN TNA, WHY DO PEOPLE HATE CENA? AND MORE

Even though they are only three weeks in, the WSX ratings have fallen each week. With that do you think it's a good idea for MTV to be doing replays of WSX on Fridays as well as having them posted online? Personally I think they are shooting themselves in the foot because I know I can watch WSX on line anytime and not have to between them and ECW at 10:30pm. Of course this ratings drop could be because people don't find WSX interesting and choose not to watch period.

Yes, I think the multiple showings do hurt it a bit, and certainly showing it in advance of the "premiere" seems a good way to hurt your own ratings.  Still, I think the show is even more hurt by the fact that, leading into the third episode, there were not only as many replays, but there weren't commercials for it either.  Basically, if you aren't online, and a diehard wrestling fan reading a site like this, you probably aren't watching it.  There also is definitely an argument to be made that the "car crash" style of the show got old real fast for some viewers.

I grew up watching Mid South wrestling & later UWF. I also followed World Class. I recently watched The Heroes of World Class DVD. I was around 9-12 yrs old when I watched World Class originally on TV so I have forgotten some about it. My question is about Kamala. In World Class, they spell his name as Kimala. Why the difference in the spelling of his name? Also Kamala was listed as being 6 feet 10 inches in World Class. I did not think that he was quite that tall. How tall is he?

I think the spelling just wasn't anything important back then.  Remember, this was a period in time where you often saw misspellings of wrestler's names on TV, just because no one bothered to ask how the spell it right.  There's plenty of 80's television with "Rick Flair" and "Dusty Rhoads" out there as well. I don't think Kamala was 6'10".  I've been told he was 6'7", but that might even be a little exaggerated.

Do you think that Vince McMahon was displeased when former talents or legends like Bobby Heenan, Sherri Martel, Jake Roberts and more recently Bob Backlund have optioned to appear on TNA? The first two names have already been inducted in the Hall of Fame, but the latter have not yet. Do you think this may cause Roberts and Backlund to never appear as nominees in the HOF down the road or never have future DVDs released featuring their work? Or do they simply don't care what Vince and the WWE think?

In the case of Heenan or Martel, I don't think there is any problem at all.  WWE wasn't using them, and I don't think Vince would begrudge them making a living and working for TNA or any promotion.  As for Roberts, WWE has had a love-hate relationship with him for years, so I doubt his brief work for TNA will exclude him from someday getting into the Hall Of Fame during one of the periods where he is getting along with the higher-ups in WWE.  As for Backlund, he was offered a spot in the Hall Of Fame, but turned it down, because he feels he has "one more run" left in him.  Since WWE isn't giving him the chance to make it happen, he is working for TNA.  Obviously, I don't see WWE inducting anyone while they are working for TNA, but I don't think it excludes them from going in later.

Why don't people like Cena. In this case I'm talking about fan reaction.

Some don't like him because girls think he is good looking.  Some don't like him because he has a limited move set.  Some don't like him because of his hip-hop gimmick.  Some don't like him because they feel he has been pushed down our throats too much.  Some don't like him because his interviews sometimes seem like Rock ripoffs.  There's probably plenty of other reasons not to like him.  Of course, there are also a lot of fans that do like him, and it would appear that, more often than not, they outnumber those that don't.

I was reading Thursday’s QA in which a reader asked about Vince doing strange things, and it got me thinking. Vince has been going on television and remarking about how “he knows what we want better than we do,” and the like. Isn’t this an admission that he reads PWInsider??? Dave, Buck and Mike have been saying for years now that Vince thinks he knows better what we want, he’s smarter than we are, etc. Isn’t it nice to know that Vince reads PWI? And since he’s turned it into an angle, shouldn’t you guys get a kick-back? I wonder if Vince is an elite member or not? Any insight?

Actually, we didn't come up with that phrase, Vince did.  He did an interview a long time ago where he made the comment that "he knows what we want better than we do" and we've just been bringing it up here on the site when Vince does things that the fans don't seem to enjoy.  So Vince saying it on television is just him reiterating a belief he has had for some time.  That said, if Vince is reading the site, I'd just like to thank him for the support and hope he encourages his friends to sign up for an Elite account!
