My question is about Lance Storm and the great commentaries he does on his website. He seems to really nail things right on and holds no punches, but is very honest and his criticisms are always constructive and he never gets personal or petty. What are your opinions on his commentaries and what do others in the business think of Lance and do they respect his opinions?I think Lance Storm is a breath of fresh air in a world of people who are constantly choosing their words carefully in order to "protect their spot" or create a new career opportunity. Like it or not, agree with it or not, Storm is always brutally honest in his observations and opinions. As a result, there are people within wrestling who have a great deal of respect for Lance, and there are those that "can't handle the truth" and hate Storm because of it.
When I was watching the Royal Rumble, I had a thought. Let's just take Carlito, for example, and Sabu (another example) threw Carlito out, but he skinned the cat and was close to touching the ground. What would happen if one of his feet touched the floor and then like 15 seconds later, still holding on, his other foot touched. Now would he still be in the match or is it eliminationville for him?
I would think that he would be eliminated, since both feet did touch the floor. However, since both feet didn't touch the floor simultaneously, there is an argument for him not being eliminated. I guess it would come down to whether or not he was supposed to be eliminated at that point!
Ok, so given the fact that WWE is poorly putting on CM Punk's abilities, do you see him getting fired and going to TNA or back to where he shined in ROH? How do you see them using him?
I don't see WWE firing him. After all, WWE has plenty of wrestlers who aren't being used well, but they are still with the company (sometimes just to keep them away from the competition). If Punk were in TNA, I don't see him being used well because, well, hardly anyone is being used well in TNA right now. Obviously, Ring Of Honor is where Punk has had some of his best matches, so it is a no-brainer that he would be used well there.
What does it say about WWE when a lot of what you hear about (especially in the elite section) is who can pull the best matches out of their champions? Shouldn't the champions (if anybody) be "pulling" a great match out of their opponents? It says that WWE has decided to go with a younger champion that they see potential in and have reversed the traditional roles of a champion being the leader in the ring. So, when it comes to an event at Wrestlemania, you want the champion (in this case John Cena) against an opponent that will take him to a new level (in this case, Shawn Michaels). As for Batista, well, there is no defense. While he gets a great pop for his entrance, his performance on PPV as of late has been uninspired, and he really shouldn't be in the main event spot of the biggest show of the year.
In your opinion, what are the 5-10 greatest cities for wrestling as far as fans go? I've noticed that some cities are louder and more electric than others, making some matches better, but what cities would they be?It's all a matter of opinion (and I'm sure I'll get emails disagreeing with me), but I would say the top cities in my opinion are New York, Montreal, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Greenville.
