I was wondering what you think what will happen when the complete waste of time (in my opinion anyway) that is the VKM storyline ends. Do you think they'll go back to being The James Gang or will they keep the VKM name?
Well, they seem to be moving into a new storyline already, one with Christy Hemme, and they are still calling themselves the Voodoo Kin Mafia. My guess is they will continue to use that name until they break up (which seems to be the direction they are heading), and when they get back together (which seems to be a pattern with them) they might take a new name (or reuse an old on).
I remember a question a while ago where you said that WWE was going to keep the spinner belt around until it stopped selling so well at merch outlets. However, do you think that WWE would introduce a redesigned belt if/when Cena eventually loses his belt for a prolonged period of time? Obviously the spinner belt gimmick isn't going to work well with wrestlers like HBK, HHH, or Flair (though it's silly to put the belt on him as of late), and the previous belt that JBL held before losing it to Cena looked really weak...it reminded me of the world tag belts. I'd love to see them go back to something that looks worthy of obtaining, i.e. the Attitude-era belt or Smackdown's World Title belt.
I have a feeling WWE will continue to redesign the belt, in both spinner and non-spinner versions, like when Edge had his "Rated R" belt. With every new version, they can sell replica and toy versions of it. Personally, I would like them to go back to the Undisputed Title belt, which to me was the closest WWE every got to the "big gold belt", which we now see on Smackdown.
Why does the WWE think it is a good Idea to put Hogan in a match with The Great Khali? I understand that they want to try to bring back memories of the Hogan/ Andre match but the only thing Khali has in common with Andre is size. I know he is big but he is less of a wrestler than Hogan is and would anybody actually expect Hogan to lose? This could easily go down as one of the worst bookings of all time. There must be something better that they can do with Hogan. The belief, at least as far as the rumors go, is that if Big Show isn't going to wrestle Hogan, then they need "another giant" so they can recreate the Hogan-Andre "slam moment" twenty years later. So, we end up with Khali. I agree, the match can't possibly be good, and if WWE goes down this road, I hope we see a two minute squash, with Hogan kicking out of an opening match chop by Khali, hulking up, slamming him, and dropping the leg for a quick win. After all, this is just being done so Hogan can create that moment, so there is no need to make us suffer through a whole match for it!
So, I had an idea floating around in my head and I was wondering what you thought of it. Do you think it would be interesting or even possible to have Cena (or any champ in the future) lose the title at the Rumble earlier in the card, then get entered into the Rumble somehow and end up winning the title shot at Wrestlemania all in the same night? I think it would be cool and unexpected. Your thoughts?
Actually, WWE did a variation on your idea in 2005. Kurt Angle, after failing to win the WWE Title from JBL in a three-way match with Big Show earlier in the card, attacked Nunzio and stole his number so he could get in the Rumble and win another title shot. WWE could certainly do the angle as you described it, but it would have to be a big crowd favorite in order to get over. Still, it is definitely something that could be done, if the title matches are held before the Rumble.
What do you think the chances are that during the Royal Rumble Randy Orton will get even with Edge by eliminating him, and the possibility of a Randy Orton vs. Undertaker finish to the Rumble, or Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels as the final two?Certainly WWE has set up the possibility of Edge and Orton turning on each other and costing each other the Rumble. Both of the finishes you have predicted for the Rumble are certainly possible, as Undertaker and Shawn Michaels have been pushed as favorites for the match, and Orton (along with Edge, and to a less degree King Booker) is set as one of the top heels you would expect to be in at the end.
