PWINSIDER Q&A: HOGAN AND AUSTIN AT WRESTLEMANIA 23. WRESTLEMANIA 24 SITE, JOHNNY JETER, SAMOA JOE AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2006-12-19 10:54:00

Was Johnny one of the two men that Ron Simmons double clotheslined out of the ring on Raw along with Val Venis during the battle royal? I could have swore it was him but it was so quick I couldn't tell for sure.

That was indeed Johnny Jeter, formerly of the Spirit Squad on last night's Raw Battle Royal.

What's the latest on Samoa Joe's injuries?

Samoa Joe has a sprain of his MCL ligament and is going to need a few weeks of rest, but should be OK for the next set of Ring of Honor events and the TNA PPV.  He's also been fighting a sciatic problem in his back but has been working through the pain because he's a warrior and has been a monster at doing what he needs to do to keep going.  His work ethic is incredible.

How stupid would I be to think of any credence being given to what I've heard one person say (A friend, who honestly I can't remember who at the moment.... ) that they are thinking of WM 2008 being held in Denver? is that ridiculous, or has anyone heard anything about it being possible?

The early word making the rounds was that Wrestlemania 24 would likely be held in Las Vegas, Nevada.  I haven't heard anything about Denver at this point, but until they make an official announcement, anything is possible.  I can see WWE already using a slogan of "Join the Mile High Club" for the show.  That's a joke, by the way.

With the looks of a Hogan vs. Austin match at Wrestlemania 23, but the basic guarantee that Hogan will be there, would you still like to see Austin compete as well?  Maybe against Edge?  There's something I could see as being a special match, since it could really escalate Edge's career.

Steve Austin vs. Edge could be something special, but it really all will be determined by whether Austin wants to chance getting back in the ring and how much he's willing to do.  I see Austin as someone who is going to be very protective of his character and not wanting to smear or tarnish what he sees as his legacy.  I don't believe we'll see Hogan vs. Austin but expect that if Hogan doesn't wrestle Big Show, he'll face and defeat another monster heel.  I could see Umaga vs. Hogan working to fit that bill or as a dark horse idea, even Hogan vs. JBL.  As for Austin, I think it's more likely he'll do a live vignette that will end in him doing the stunner and having a beer bash.  It'd be fun to see do a vignette with Sandman where they try to drink each other under the table, but that's just me playing fantasy booker.

Could you ever see a possibility of a joint WWE, TNA, ROH, Ect. show happening. I saw the promos for the Christmas with the troops and it just seems so perfect that an event like that would feature the greatest profession wrestling possible. I mean wouldn't a charity event like that
benefit from a joint production. What do you think.

It will never happen because of politics, but it's a great idea.
