Watching Hogan Knows Best, and seeing Hogan worrying about money and saying that he can't afford new houses...was this all part of the show. I mean I'm pretty sure the show is staged (the situations are often unrealistic and the camera shots are mostly perfect) but is Hogan really not as rich as everyone thinks. Just curious.
Don't worry about the Hulkster. He's got plenty in the bank, and has no problem buying a home. Remember, Hogan Knows Best is about as realistic as ... well, as a WWE storyline.
I remember on a Sunday Night Heat I was watching like ten years ago, where the ending segment was a group of Asian guys holding Val Venis tied to the ceiling and then they chopped his b**** off with a sword. I don't remember why it happened exactly, but what was it about?
What you were remembering was an angle where Mr. Yamaguchi, manager of Kaientai, found out that his wife, who was also TAKA Michonoku's sister (all in storyline, of course), had cheated on Yamaguchi with Val Venis. So, Kaientai tied him up and threatened to, as they said at the time, "choppy-choppy-pee-pee".
What are your thoughts on the six-sided ring that TNA uses and do you think that the company would gain more credibility and/or viewers that are used to a four-sided ring if they were to switch to using that type of ring? I know I have heard negative reactions from a lot of not-so-avid wrestling fans about TNA because of their initial reaction to the ring. I know it's shallow to "judge a book by its cover," but also, what do you think the chances of them switching to a traditional ring are?
I can't see why anyone would have a negative reaction to the six-sided ring. It's still a ring, just a little different, and it is something that makes TNA look different than every other wrestling show out there (well, except AAA, which is where the ring originated). I don't see TNA ever switching to a traditional ring, nor should they.
Do you think WWE will ever release old In your House PPV's on DVD?I highly doubt we will see any kind of collection of the In Your House events on DVD. You're more likely to see some of the better matches included on other various DVD releases. Someday, as WWE continues to release things from their massive library, you might see it happen, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
Do the WWE PPV replays that usually start on the Tuesday after a PPV get good buyrates?
From what I understand, the replays (other than the one immediately following the live broadcast) rarely do well at all. It's more "filler" programming for PPV providers, and it allows cable companies to offer a replay to those that have problems with the initial broadcast. Obviously, WWE makes some revenue off of them, but the big money is for the live broadcast and the late night replay.
