What's the deal with Randy Orton? I have yet to seen anything that merits all the hype he's gotten. Sure he's got the look and the athleticism, but for the most part his offense is filled with punches, knee drops and chinlocks. Why is this guy considered the future of the WWE, when he's not that much better in the ring than John Cena?
You do realize that the guy you said Orton isn't much better than is actually the real future of WWE, right? Look and athleticism is most of what WWE is looking for in their workers. If they have charisma (which is where I think Orton is lacking and Cena has more than anyone could ever need), they are the perfect wrestler in the eyes of Vince McMahon. I don't agree, but it's his company, not mine.
What promotions do wrestlers have the most fun working for now?
Obviously, the top guys in WWE and TNA have fun but that doesn't trickle down the card to guys who think that they could be used better or handled a bigger push. On the whole, from what I hear guys working ROH and the indies seem to enjoy working the most because they do it for the purest of reasons. I know that a lot of the workers love the freedom of ROH because they can go out there and do what they do best: wrestle!
Why did WWE have Lita job ao her way out of the company and not Trish? Do they hold Trish in higher regard?
I think there are two reasons that it went that way. First, Trish was a babyface so the storyline made more sense for her to leave on top. Second, Trish gave notice first and Lita followed her. It just would have been cheesy to book the same storyline that closely together so Lita got to do the job, which as a heel she should have done in my opinion. Frankly, I have no problem with how they booked it. After all, Trish was the best women's wrestler of her era and turned herself into one of the greatest North American women's wrestlers of all time. Lita was a valet as much as she wrestled.
I recently read a question that pertained to instituting more titles in ECW, to which you guys said that at this point in time, it would not be a good idea. I agree that it’s not the time to flood ECW with meaningless titles, but there is one title that could help steer ECW in the direction many fans WANT it to go, and that’s the Hardcore Title. I think ECW needs to bring this title in, have a tournament for it, and then re-instate the 24/7 rule, which often made this title so much fun. What do you think?
The problem there is that is a direction that the fans want ECW to go. It's not a direction that Vinnie Mac wants it to go. So, it won't ever happen. That leads to our last question....
Mike Johnson mentioned in the 11/26 Q&A that "The long-term viability of the ECW name as a separate brand will probably be decided once the December to Dismember buyrate comes in". D to D is another $40 PPV a week after the Survivor Series PPV and 2 weeks after the TNA PPV. It's being pushed as basically a 1 match show with no other matches announced yet and barely any hype. I believe the mental midgets at WWE have set up this PPV and the ECW name to fail with a low buyrate thereby damaging any long term viability. Also, judging by the way the ECW crew was treated at SurSer (except for CM Punk), I also think Vince and Co. have already given up on ECW and are just looking for an excuse to change it. Vince is a real piece of....work for doing this. What do you think?
What do I think? I agreed with you on all of this BEFORE the PPV on Sunday. After seeing that trainwreck, I REALLY agree with you now. The way that Vince has treated ECW, its wrestlers, its former owner and its former fans is an utter and complete embarrassment.
