What was the most surprising thing in wrestling that stunned or shocked you to the point where you were saying "I can't believe this is happening"?
Obviously, the easy answer here is the tragic death of Owen Hart. Nothing could ever be more shocking than that. It's something you would never expect to happen, and I hope nothing like that ever happens again during a wrestling show again. Now, if you are referring to a planned event that stunned me, about the only thing that comes to mind is Eric Bischoff hugging Vince McMahon when he debuted on Raw. That was one time WWE legitimately surprised me, as I figured Bischoff was done with the wrestling business for good, and I certainly never expected him to go work for WWE.
To be the best of your knowledge, was Rick Steamboat ever burnt by the fire he used in his intro with his "The Dragon" gimmick in the WWF?
There definitely were a few occasions where he burnt the corners of his mouth while doing the fire breathing bit, but nothing too severe. However, a funny story about the fire. When WWF decided to have Steamboat do the trick, they brought in a circus performer to show him how it is done. The performer demonstrated the trick outside, and a unexpected gust of wind resulted in the performer, a trained professional, burning himself in front of Steamboat as he was demonstrating the trick!
Aren't the following WAY past due on their WWE Hall of Fame inductions? Howard Finkel, "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes, Jake Roberts, and The Brisco Brothers? Why do you think they've all been missed up to this point?
I wouldn't say Howard Finkel is way past due, although now that Gene Okerlund has been inducted, the precedent has been set for announcers to go in, and certainly Finkel is a well known figure in WWF/E history. I would expect Dusty Rhodes to go in this coming year, as WWE has wanted to induct him in the past. Jake Roberts would make sense, given the other 80's stars that have gone in, but WWE is probably just sparing us from hearing Roberts tell his self-pity story again. The Brisco Brothers certainly should be in by now, and it is surprise that they aren't, given their relationship with the McMahons.
I was just wondering if any wrestling promoters or companies have ever released an official "best of" video/DVD of the Dynamite Kid? I'm thinking particularly of his work in Japan.
While his matches have appeared on various DVD compilations, there has never been an official "best of" released of Dynamite Kid. Personally, I would love to see WWE combine his footage from Stampede, WWF and New Japan into one release, but I don't know if WWE would see it as being marketable enough for a mainstream release. Until then, fans will just have to settle for the various bootleg compilations out there.
I was wondering if Tammy “Sunny†Sytch was really coming back to the WWE… or was that a cruel joke played on her fans?
I'm not sure what you are referring to, but I haven't heard anything about Sytch possibly returning to WWE.
