A quick question for you about Trish Stratus. Do you see her getting another DVD from WWE? The reason I ask is because I think it would be a shame for WWE to overlook the second half of her career, when she became such a big star as a result of her heel turn and her continued improvement in the ring. Also, I ask this question because JR recently wrote in his online blog that another Trish DVD would be a "lay up" (which I presume means "a sure thing"). I just wanted to get a second opinion on this.
It's possible WWE could do one, but I don't believe they would until Stratus makes the decision to return to the company on a regular basis. I don't see WWE wanting to push and market a DVD focused on someone who isn't under contract and outside of their synergy at this point when they have a collection of talent and classic footage they they can promote instead.
In your Q&A over the weekend, you mentioned that Tully Blanchard had a run-in with JBL. My question is why does WWE allow JBL to run roughshod over everyone he decides he has an issue with? They are a public company and the stories revolving around JBL are infamous, so why doesn't the company stop him?
There are a number of reasons. JBL is a tenured employee with a high level of trust. Management personally likes him and he has a number of allies inside the company. While on the outside, it's easy to crucify him, but inside a company where politics are as important as talent, it's understandable that WWE will allows allow those who are inside the circle to get away with things that they would penalize others for. That's the way of the world, not just in WWE, but in a lot of companies great and small.
Whatever happened to ECW's JT Smith?
Smith makes rare appearances from time to time, but for the most part is retired and living in the Virginia area. He was truly an underrated talent that deserved to make more money in the business than he got a chance to earn.
Since when does the NWA title change on a disqualification?
TNA did lay the groundwork for this during the Jeff Jarrett championship reign, but the title change did come out of left field. I don't have a problem with the title change per say, but it's the type of finish and title change that can be done once, not overused. The idea that Abyss was destroyed and decimated and still ended up with the title is a unique idea, playing off "bad referee calls" and similar things that happen during sporting events and big time fights. Unfortunately, in recent weeks, TNA has been bouncing their championships around at an insane rate, which leads me to believe that we'll likely see more fluke finishes soon as well.
When was Simon Dean and The Gymini released?
I don't believe the Gymini have been released, although they are currently off the WWE roster page. Simon Dean has retired to take a position for the WWE's department of Talent Relations, replacing Tommy Dreamer.
