This is something that has actually bothered me for quite some time. Why is TNA theme songs basically ripping off their wrestlers past theme songs. Namely Sabu, Christian Cage, Kevin Nash, Raven, Rhino, Scott Steiner, Sean Waltman, Team 3D. I've also noticed some rip offs of former independents songs, for example, Samoa Joe. I mean, can't TNA come up with its original stuff?
From what I understand, TNA does it on purpose so that the entrances for stars sound similar to ones they have had in the past, since some fans do associate certain songs with wrestlers. That said, I agree that TNA should try to come up with something less generic, and possible get songs from unsigned bands that would appreciate the exposure, while at the same time giving TNA a unique set of songs.
In 1991 Andre the Giant was scheduled to complete in the Royal Rumble, my question is why was he taken out of it.
Actually, it was stated on WWF Television about two months prior to the Rumble that Andre would not be at the event due to an injury suffered while in Japan. Honestly, Andre had stopped wrestling in the U.S. at that point, only making scattered WWF appearances while wrestling for All Japan Pro Wrestling.
I remember as a kid a wrestler named Jerry Brown who was part of the Hollywood Blondes and partnered with I believe Buddy Roberts. But did Buddy Roberts go by a different name at that time? I thought he had something to do with being Johnny Valentine's brother.
Yep, Buddy Roberts wrestled under the name Dale Valentine (Dale is his real first name, actually) and did a gimmick that he was Johnny's brother.
What does DDT mean, if anything?
As Jake Roberts said in numerous interviews, DDT means "The End". If you mean the initials, it stands for dichloro diphenyl trichloroethane, and it is considered to be the first modern organic pesticide. That's where "DDT" came from, with the idea that the move was as effective as the pesticide.
I've recently seen somewhere that the 2007 Survivor Series is being held at the Bell Centre in Montreal, which of course marks the 10 year anniversary of the Montreal screwjob can you confirm this. Also what is Vince's fascination with reliving Montreal? I mean does it actually bring in any profits? I for one am already not looking forward event, so why does Vince have to constantly relive this moment 10 years after it happened?
Yes, the 2007 Survivor Series will be taking place in Montreal, and don't think for a second that WWE didn't set up the show knowing full well that it would be the 10-year anniversary of the Screwjob. As for Vince's fascination with Montreal, it is probably the second most famous match in WWE history (the only one I would put above it is Hogan vs. Andre at Wrestlemania III). Does it bring in profits? I don't believe so, but it does get a reaction from the fans.
