Let's say Paul Heyman gets frustrated with the direction of WWECW tomorrow (which he'd have a perfect right to, in my opinion) and has a major argument with Vince McMahon and quits. I know when his contract was almost up last year Dixie Carter expressed interest in him, and he would be a valid asset over there at TNA. From what I understand, the locker room is much more relaxed, family-like, so he'd probably be more comfortable (particularly with Rhino and D-Von and Buh Buh Ray) but since Jeff Jarrett owns part of the company and he hates him and Jim Cornette is now there and he's his arch nemesis, do you guys think it would be any easier for him at TNA?
Honestly, I would think Paul Heyman is pretty happy with his current situation. Obviously, it isn't "his ECW" anymore, but he is getting the chance to work in a creative capacity and the results have been, for the most part, well received. Whether he is in WWE or TNA, Heyman is always going to cause friction with management, just because he is so passionate in what he does and is willing to fight for what he believes is the right path to go down.
Were the reports true awhile back of WWE approaching The James Gang to return as part of D-Generation X? If so, why didn't they (The James Gang) accept WWE's offer? Their not getting much of a push in TNA, not to mention it would be one last chance for them to make some big time money.
From what I understand there is no truth to those rumors. There were never any plans to bring back Billy Gunn or Road Dogg.
Is female Japanese superstar Manami Toyota still wrestling?
Yes, she is and she recently celebrated her 20th anniversary in wrestling by working every match on a card on a five bout card on August 6th, putting in more than 78 minutes of match time.
Who are Heyman's Bodyguards and do you think they'll be unmasked and given a bit more use?
They're Doug & Danny Basham, and just recently they started working ECW house shows against the FBI, so I would imagine they will get more involved over time. There's no ECW Tag Titles at the moment, so it isn't like there is a lot to do as a tag team on that brand.
Today is 9/11-2006, the fifth anniversary of the terror attacks on this nation. I was incredibly proud as a wrestling fan when WWE went ahead with SmackDown live on Thursday, September 13, 2001. I agreed with many of the things Vince McMahon had said and the mayor of Houston not only gave his support and blessing, but was at the show as well. the largest public gathering since the terror attacks. Is there ANY chance that WWE will release this phenomenal night on DVD? I know many will accuse them of crass commercialization, trying to make a buck at the expense of the tragedy. they can donate all proceeds to a 9/11 charity.
Honestly, I would not expect WWE to ever release that show on DVD. It was a special night (despite Stephanie McMahon's somewhat ridiculous comments), and WWE has shown in the past that they are willing to let those kind of shows stand alone (like the Eddie Guerrero and Owen Hart tribute shows), and not try to market them as DVDs, even for charity. They did release the "Tribute To The Troops" show, but that seems to be the exception, not the rule.
