What is the significance of the Pepsi symbol and CM Punk?
I have asked in the past and I was told "he likes Pepsi". It's obvious, but is also the answer.
What was the point of turning Linda McMahon heel. I remember when she came to the ring I thought "I bet she will do something to JR" then she kicks him the balls. But they didn't do anything to follow up on this except that lame skit the next night. Was this meant to be something else or did they just drop it when they realized it was a dumb idea?
They just did it as a way of "firing" (and in my opinion humiliating) Jim Ross for his position as the Raw announcer. There was no long term plan to it beyond that. They felt that people would think when Linda came out that she would be the face that would save JR, only to turn on him. Instead, it was really transparent and everyone saw it coming.
Why does ECW in Canada have such a late timeslot?ÂÂÂÂÂ
The reason is simple, it was the only time slot that they can get. Despite the somewhat popular opinion to the contrary from some fans, wrestling programming, while it delivers a nice rating, comes with the stigma of being a wrestling product and there are only a limited number of networks that will air it. Remember, WCW was sold for a song to WWE when no station wanted to take on a show (Nitro) that was averaging over a 2.0 every week. That is the cross that wrestling bears.
I had a question about Kurt Angle I was going to wait a couple of months to ask, but now with this apparent MMA interest, I figured I'll ask now. What percentage would you give on Kurt Angle having a match at WrestleMania 23?
At this point, if I were to consult the world famous Magic 8 Ball, I would expect it to say, "All signs point to no!"ÂÂÂÂÂ
Update: See what happens when I do these a day in advance? I think the Magic 8 ball I saw yesterday was right on the money!
I, as well, have been watching WWE 24/7 and am curious about a show that keeps popping up under the Primetime section, TNT. I know this refers to Tuesday Night Titans, however that is about the limit of my knowledge. What station did this show air and at what time? How long was this show on for? I found, while watching TNT, that the show seemed like a very very cheap version of the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. Heck, the episode they have loaded currently has the show coming from "Uncle Elmer's Ranch" which you can tell is a darkened studio. Thank you for your time and excellent work with the site.
At the height of the WWF Hulk Hogan boom in the mid-80s, the company was on fire and Vince McMahon pitched a "variety show" to their broadcast partner, The USA Network. It was basically a parody of late night talks shows of the time, featuring WWF personalities. It aired for a few years and was definitely a different kind of show. It was our first inkling into Vince McMahon's desire to move into entertainment. There were some entertaining moments on the show, (who could ever forget Fuji Vice?) but some really embarrassing ones as well.
