Does everybody lie about their height and weight in wrestling? It's rather tough to figure out where the BS starts and stops.
Not everyone lies, but there has always been a tendency to exaggerate the numbers and make guys seem "larger than life", especially during the 1980's, where someone near 400 pounds became a 500 pounder, and someone that was 6' 9" was "over seven feet tall". There seemed to be an unwritten rule that you had to be at least 245 pounds to be taken seriously.
Kanyon claims he was fired from the WWE because he was gay. Wouldn't it make sense for him to sue them if that was the case? Also, do you think Kanyon is actually gay, or is he just using this as an attempt to get back in the wrestling spotlight?
Well, if you ask Kanyon, he wants to talk to Vince McMahon and find out if that is the real reason he was fired. If Kanyon seriously, believes he was released due to sexual preference, or because he was about to reveal his sexual preference, then he should look into legal avenues. Do I think he's gay? Honestly, I don't know and don't care. Whether he is or isn't, it is obvious he is just trying to garner attention for himself. I think it's all pretty sad.
Since the WWE has been doing such low numbers lately in their PPVs, especially considering the buys the UFC has had lately, do you think that they should start doubling up on them, with two brands per PPV or even add all three brands to each PPV?
That's actually not a bad idea, as WWE needs to do something to get more buys, and it is obvious that most of the single brand PPV events have pretty weak lineups. Obviously, one of the reasons the "big four" PPV events do better is because you get to see (in theory) the top stars from all the brands (in addition to having the established event name). Mixing things up by having the PPV's split amongst two brands (and the main shows amongst three) might entice more fans to shell out the bucks for shows.
My question is about the steady decline in the ratings for TNA Impact lately. Do you think this has anything to do with Jeff Jarrett regaining the NWA title?
The decline in ratings can't be blamed on one single factor. There's a lot of reasons, including: Summer ending, which means less kids watching television late at night. New programming on broadcast and cable channels, which keeps channel surfers from going to the show. WWE now offering five hours of prime time wrestling a week, giving many viewers their "fill of wrestling". And yes, I do think some fans are turned off by seeing Jeff Jarrett and other "old" WCW and WWE performers in top positions on the show.
With Trish taking time off, who do you think WWE will push as the top diva?
Honestly, those boots will be very hard to fill. I would say Melina probably has the best combination of charisma, looks and ability to lead the division as the top diva. There's a lot of potential in Michelle McCool, Jillian Hall and Mickie James, but I think Melina scores higher overall in the categories I mentioned at this point in time.
