PWINSIDER Q&A: BOOKER AS CHAMPION, ECW, VINCE AT HOUSE SHOWS AND MORE

I know you're not surprised by the way the ECW product is looking. I mean it's Vince McMahons vision of what he wants. So it's no surprise that the product is just a watered down version of what it use to be. The story lines make no sense, the writing is average at best and I know Paul Heyman is better than that. My question to you is, does it seem as if Paul Heyman has sold out to Vince because he was told he would be part of the new ECW and is trying to re-live the past? Honestly, I know Paul is NOT behind some of these ridiculous ideas (ie: Kelly "Bimbo" Kelly lack of strip teases, giving RAW wrestlers more TV time, NOT using enough ECW "originals" etc) Am I just over reacting or what?

I don't know if you are overreacting as much as you are just disappointed that the new ECW isn't the same as the ECW you knew and loved.  At this point, if you haven't come to terms that this is not the ECW of 1993-2001, I don't know what to tell you. As for Paul Heyman "selling out", I wouldn't say that. Heyman is simply doing his job and trying to continue his career in a business that he loves.  ECW is Vince McMahon's property now, so if Heyman is writing it, the end result has to work with Vince's vision for the show.

Is WWE Classics on MSG supposed to be a weekly thing, or was it a one-time only show?

The show was first brought on as a summer program for the MSG Network.  However, with the other sports commitments the channel has, it has been more of a bi-weekly than regular show.  From what I understand, there are plans for another set of episodes in the future, as the summer series was a big success for MSG Network.

Does Vince McMahon attend WWE house shows on weekends, or does he typically just attend the main shows (Raw, Smackdown, PPVs, etc)?

For the most part, Vince McMahon doesn't attend house shows regularly anymore, but he will attend certain events on occasion.  Vince is always at every televised event.

Since Booker T has become a 6-TIME, 6-TIME, 6-TIME world champion, how long do you think his title reign will last? Will he be a transitional champion to give Batista the belt back.

It certainly appeared that Booker was going to be a transitional champion to get the belt from Rey Mysterio to Batista, but thankfully WWE has yet to pull the trigger on giving the belt to Batista.  Personally, I think having the heel King Booker as the champion with the babyfaces (Batista, perhaps Undertaker, Mysterio, Lashley) chasing after him make for a much more interesting brand.  I think Booker is doing a really good job with his current gimmick, and would like to see him as champion for a few more months.

Now that ECW is going to return full time do you think they might end the brand extension and give ECW the Friday night Smackdown spot.

Nope.  Smackdown would have to crash and burn pretty badly before WWE would abandon that brand and give it up to expand ECW.  I think WWE's plans are to continue having three full-time brands, and further flood the market with WWE products for the fans to spend their "wrestling dollars" on.
