COMPLETE COVERAGE OF AN EMOTIONAL NYWC TONY NESE FAREWELL EVENT: NESE VS. REYNOLDS CLASSIC, SPIRIT SQUAD, CAGED & CUFFED, BULL JAMES AND TONS MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2016-11-26 23:00:00

Welcome to PWInsider.com's live, ongoing coverage of the New York Wrestling Connection's return to the NYWC Sportatorium in Deer Park, Long Island for "Draw the Line", featuring the farewell of Tony Nese, in his final New York area appearance before going full-time to WWE, as he faces longtime rival Alex Reynolds.

Nese originally trained at the NYWC Wrestling Academy and has been working regularly for the promotion for years, so it's appropriate his NYC area farewell will be here at the same venue he began training.   He has two final independent dates still forthcoming, for Tommy Dreamer's House of Hardcore.

The show began at 7 PM on the dot!  I love that.  More independents need to follow that rule!

The show began with NYWC champion Stockade coming out with his crew, bragging they were the dominant force in NYWC.  He said that all good things come to an end and tonight, Alvin Alvarez needed a favor and came to him, so he gave him a King - King Mega.  He promised that his Hound of Hatred would capture the NYWC Tag Team champions tonight.  He said that everyone is here to celebrate Tony Nese tonight as he's going away and is going to WWE.  He said that fans can celebrate him all they want, but Nese isn't leaving with the NYWC title.  He said Nese can try and challenge him, but he would fail.  He then issued an open challenge to anyone in the back that wanted to challenge him.

Out came Aiden Bale.  Stockade told him that if he wanted a title shot, that was fine but he was going to get take him out.  Bale remarked that Stockade should have skipped McDonalds.  Stockade's legion returned to the back.

NYWC champion Stockade vs. Aiden Baal.

Baal had Stockade on the defensive early.  Stockade sent him to the floor and worked him over on the apron, sending him back to the floor.  When Baal returned, Stockade beat him down for a two count and then choked him.  Stockade ripped at his face and slammed him down face-first, covering him for a two count.  The crowd rallied behind Baal, but Stockade sent him into the corner.  He went for an Avalanche but ate an elbow and was nailed with a Buff Blockbuster for a two count.  Baal nailed another Blockbuster.  He went for a kick, but the champ caught him.  Baal spun and kicked him with his other leg.

Stockade ducked a clothesline.  Baal went for a rana but was caught with a sitdown powerbomb.  They battled until Baal nailed a Pele Kick and both went down.    They exchanged punches in the middle of the ring.  Baal nailed a German suplex and a shining wizard for a two count.  Baal missed a spinkick and was caught with what I believe was a big elbow and pinned.

Your winner and still NYWC champion, Stockade!

Baal got a nice round of applause as he exited.

Nice competitive bout.  Baal gets a little bit of a rub from battling one of the NYWC stalwarts.

NYWC FUSION Champion Tyler Murphy vs. Big O.

They went nose to nose.  O shoved Murphy down in the corner.  Murphy told O that he was the champ and that O should remember that.  He told O that O got injured and Murphy picked up the slack.  This pissed off O, who got REAL aggressive and slammed him down with the hardest shoulderblock I can remember seeing in a long time.  Murphy walked around on the floor, trying to shake off the effects.

When Murphy returned, O drove him into the corner several times.  Murphy stunned O and took him to the mat, locking in a kimura to try and wear down his larger challenger.  Murphy nailed a big leaping knee in the corner and scored a two count.  The crowd chanted for O.  Murphy tied him up on the mat.  O finally shoved him off and caught him going for a high cross bodyblock.  O nailed a Fall Away Slam but was too tired to capitalize.  The referee counted both men down but they returned to their feet before the ten count.

O shoved Murphy into the ropes and nailed him with a big lariat as he rebounded.  O nailed a British Bulldog style over the shoulder powerslam but was hurt and took a moment before he made the cover.  That time allowed Murphy to kick up at two.  O charged Murphy who ducked and pulled down the rope.  O crashed to the floor.  Murphy hit a sliding dropkick through the ropes to the floor.

Murphy went for a move but was caught.  O went to run him into one of the steel pillars in the venue but Murphy slipped behind him and shoved O into it.  The O couldn't return to the ring in time and the referee counted him out.

Your winner and still NYWC Fusion champion Tyler Murphy!

Murphy cut a promo saying this proves who is the undisputed champion and told O, still recovering, "get to the back of the line b****!"

It was as good as it can get with Big O, as it was laid out to showcase his strengths and to allow Murphy to work him over with strong wrestling.  That was smart as O is limited physically but has a great charisma and is loved locally here.   This obviously will set up rematches.

Bull James vs. Maxwell Jacob Feinstein

Bull offers himself up for a shot.  Maxwell takes it but Bull avoids.  He locked on a nerve hold. Feinstein scampers to the floor.    James control Feinstein with ease early on, maneuvering him back into the nerve hold around the shoulder.  Feinstein's second tried to get involved and is dragged into the ring, where they are nailed with a double noggin knocker.  Feinstein nails Bull and slams his arm to the mat, then begins focusing on the extremity.  He cinches in a top wristlock and stomps the arm, trying to injure James.

He continues to work over James in the corner until James raked his face.  James went to send him into the corner but was cut off and stomped.  Feinstein went back to working on the arm as the crowd chanted for Bull.  Bull fought his way to his feet and kicked down Feinstein as he charged into the corner.  He went to the apron to recover.  Feinstein dove at him, but Bull caught him with his feet and propelled him off the apron into the guard rail.

When Feinstein returned, Bull cleaned house with a series of clubbering right hands but missed the Doink Drop.  Feinstein locked in an armbar, trying to force the submission.  James fought his way out and nailed a neckbreaker.  James nailed several rights and hit a pedigree for the pin.

Your winner, Bull James!

Good story with a nice story told bell to bell.

James nailed Feinstein's second and then dumped Feinstein to the floor after.
