It was reported over the weekend in a number of German newspaper outlets that WWE's current TV home in Germany, TELE 5 will not renew it's current contract when it ends in March 2017. The decision was made despite the fact that Raw is one of the most successful series on the network.
Stefan Kastenmüller, General Manager and WWE VP Europe, has told local media that Smackdown may also leave move as the current deal it has with Pro7 Maxx ends also in March 2017. Kastenmüller noted that WWE has a lot of interest from broadcast, digital and paid subscription channels in the market and expects to sign a new deal shortly.
