PWINSIDER Q&A: YOKOZUNA IN WWF, WOMEN IN THE WWE HALL OF FAME, KWANG-MUTA & MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2009-05-24 10:00:00

How many women have been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame? Who are they? Any chance of all womens induction next year? What women would you like to see inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame?

The Fabulous Moolah, Sherri Martel and Mae Young are the only female members of the WWE Hall of Fame.  As far as future inductees, I am sure there will be more, but no clearcut indications as to who yet.  Women I'd like to see inducted are Elizabeth, Penny Banner and Trish Stratus.

What are the chances of former child star Danny Bonaduce taking a more active role in TNA? Has TNA ever showed any interest in signing him?

I'd say very slim.  I don't see him, at his age, working in professional wrestling when he can make as much or more money elsewhere without all the physical abuse.

Seeing a question about Savio Vega's WWF character Kwang made me start thinking, was the character supposed to be Savio's take off on The Great Muta? He did the green mist, his entrance attire was pretty similar, and he also had the tips of his right middle and index fingers taped up like Muta. I know during a Japan tour, when he was TNT, he worked with Muta, and wondered if he took aspects of the character when he became Kwang.

It's quite possible, but since Muta was a takeoff of the Great Kabuki, that's who they both ripped off!

I have noticed lately that the championship belts in WWE aren't being referred to as 'belts' in promos or by the commentators, furthermore no champion seems to wear them around their waist anymore, OK Edge, Cena and HHH did on the way to the ring but other than that it goes straight on the shoulder, is it something you've noticed and is there any decent reason for this you know of?

WWE wants the championships referred to as just that, championships - not titles or belts or straps.  It's just what they want.  As far as how champions hold the titles, I am sure that's left up to the champions themselves.

How long was Yokozuna in the WWF before headlining Wrestlemania?

Yokozuna officially debuted on television in October 1992.  He headlined Wrestlemania IX in March 1993 against Bret Hart and repeated the feat the following year at Wrestlemannia X.
