THREE ARRESTS MADE IN MURDER OF CANADIAN INDEPENDENT WRESTLER

By Mike Johnson on 2008-01-24 08:05:43

The Winnipeg Sun reported this morning that three members of the same family have been charged with murder in the death of Canadian independent wrestler Ivan (John) Radocaj, who performed as "The Croatian Giant."

Donald Richard, 31, Daniel Richard, 22, and Timothy Richard, 20, were arrested Wednesday and charged with first-degree murder after an extensive police investigation.  Radocaj's family claimed that his ex-wife, Melody Sanford, had threatened Ivan's life several weeks prior to the murder and that she had coerced him into a three-week marriage to get her hands on an insurance settlement stemming from a car accident that left him with a broken neck.

Sanford denied those claims and there's no clear-cut explanation as to any relation between she and the Richards.  Sanford claimed she and Radocaj had reconciled before his death, something his family says they know nothing about.  Radocaj was killed this past September at the age of 43.
