Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame: The Heels

Ah, good old fashioned pro wrestling brutality!

Deep down, admit it.  You know it's true.  You ALL love the bad guy.  In the movies, TV, books, and of course, professional wrestling.  For those of you, like me, who have been fascinated by the ability of some of these amazing performers to create sheer hatred from those paying to watch them, ECW Press' latest book "Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame - The Heels" is just for you.

The third in a series (following Canadians and Tag Teams), this latest 400 page opus from Greg Oliver and Steve Johnson traces the history of the heel professional wrestler, lists the top 20 heel performers, and features tons upon tons of excellent profiles and photos on many of these great wrestlers.  I was absolutely impressed by the book when I recently received it.

Among those profiled include Ric Flair, Abdullah the Butcher, Paul Orndorff, Don Muraco, Triple H, Roy Shires, Gorgeous George, Eddie Gilbert, Buddy Rogers, The Sheik, Freddie Blassie, Killer Kowalski, The Destroyer, Boris Malenko, Harley Race, Roddy Piper, Jeff Jarrett, Pampero Firpo, George Steele, Randy Orton, Superstar Graham, Rick Rude, Kane, Tully Blanchard, Pat Patterson, Terry Funk, Fritz Von Erich and many, many, many others.  Even Andy Kaufman!

With a foreword by Rick Martel, the book looks to be an awesome addition to the collection of any wrestling fan who cares about history or who just loves to jeer the babyface.  There are a ton of quotes from performers and writers coupled with some amazingly rare photos of different performers that bookend one of the most impressive ECW Press releases, period.

From what I've read of it so far, it's so good, I'll even forgive them for Terry Funk not being included in the Top 20 greatest heels of all time.

Hall of Fame: The Heels is available now from our good friend at www.Highspots.com.
