First of, I would like to thank Axel, the voice of TNA in Portugal, who made this show possible by bringing big superstars from TNA. This was the 1st TNA show in Portugal and in terms of wrestling, it was awesome. However, the crowd sucked because much of them were kids who wanted to see Kurt Angle and few of them Christian and did not have a clue who the TNA Stars were. There were few smarks in the audience unfortunately.
Jerry Lynn vs. Brother Runt. Since no one knew who Jerry was, he was booed. Jerry looked in terrific shape and I hope he has a great match at Final Resolution. The match was decent and ended with an Acid Drop from the former LSD.**
Pac vs. Jody Fleisch vs. Jony Storm vs. Spud. Before the match, Christopher Daniels announced from the stage that Jeff Jarrett wouldn't be in Portugal and that he would face the winner from this match for the X-Division Championship. I have seen these men's previous works in 1PW or ROH and his match was awesome and TNA should hire these four workers because they could be a new breath to the X-Division, instead of focusing it on Kevin Nash. This match was full of high spots and the best moment was when Jody Fleisch gave a shooting star to the outside to the other wrestlers. I think Pac should have won but Jonny Storm ended the match with a Wonderwhirl. After the match Spud came back and attacked Jony Storm.****
VKM vs. Team 3D. Before the match, BG had two words to the crowd: "Portugal sucks" and Team 3D came out to a huge pop and Bubba called Kip James maricas (pussy in Portuguese) and chanted Ollay Ollay to the audience while D-Von had a Portuguese soccer shirt. In a funny moment, a spectator was chanting Rockabilly at Kip and Bubba handed the fan the mic for him to chant Rockabilly with VKM trying to leave the building when Team 3D went after them and most of the match was a huge brawl in the audience. I don't know why but Spud interfered in the match, helping VKM.The match ended with a 3D to BG. After the match they tossed Spud into the table and gave him the 3D. Team 3D was way over and I will give them props for interacting a lot with the audience.*1/4
NWA Title:Abyss vs. Christian. Believe it or not, but Abyss played babyface here not to a good effort because Christian was way over with the crowd. Christian tried to make the crowd to boo him by insulting the Portuguese soccer team and the audience but the crowd still cheered him. Christian tried to use many cheap tactics to put the big man down and after Christian tried to use the NWA title on him, Abyss caught him in the Blackhole Slam, ending Christian's undefeated TNA streak. ***
AJ Styles vs. Rhyno. Thank god this was a face vs. face match. AJ Styles is simply phenomenal.This was a pretty good match (in my opinion better than the Turning Point match), with AJ pulling out some moves out of his sleeve like the Muta Lock, the Pelea and a plancha to the outside. The finish was awesome with AJ flipping out of the corner into a Gore by Rhyno for the pinfall. After the match they hugged and this is how the feud should be. ***1/2
X-Division Championship:Christopher Daniels vs. Jonny Storm.This was a pretty good match with some terrific chain wrestling in the beginning with Jonny having to pull out some aerial maneuvers to be on offense. Daniels came back with a STO, a moonsault to the floor, he gave him his modified Sambo Suplex and the BME for the pinfall. After the match they shook hands and I hope Jonny comes to TNA sooner or in the next X-Division World Cup.***3/4
Christy vs. Gail Kim. Axel was the special referee for this match. The match started with a catfight between the two Knockouts with Axel in the middle of them. Christy has improved a bit since her WWE run. Gail Kim tried some submission maneuvers from her WWE days and a Tarantula. The match ended with Christy rolling up Gail Kim for the win.*1/4
Samoa Joe vs. Kurt Angle. Angle was way over with the crowd. The match started with some terrific chain wrestling with them reversing each other's maneuver. After this they chopped the hell out of each other, with Joe dominating with his enziguiri into the corner and the running kick in the corner. Angle came back working over Joe's leg and went for the Anglelock but Joe sent him to the outside and gave him a suicide dive. Joe tried two times to go for the Muscle Buster and at the third attempt, he managed to give the muscle buster for 2. Angle reversed the Kojita Clutch into the Angle Slam for 2. The match ended with Joe catching Angle on the Kojita Clutch with Angle reversing it into the Anglelock and grapevining the leg for the submission. This match was like the one at Genesis but it was awesome seeing these two face each other live.****
I would like to give thanks to the TNA stars, especially Team 3D who interacted a lot with the crowd, Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels and Kurt Angle, by being simply awesome and Christian, who played an excellent heel, by insulting the audience.
