LOTS OF TNA UPDATES ON RATINGS, SAMOA JOE, KONNAN HEALTH ISSUES, UK, AND MUCH MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2006-12-26 10:04:00

For those of you who may have missed it over the weekend, TNA Impact last Thursday scored a 1.1 rating.

The Wrestling Observer reported over the weekend that Konnan, who was scheduled to undergo a hip replacement surgery, was discovered to have had major kidney problems and is currently undergoing dialysis. He's likely going to need a transplant. Be sure to keep he and his family in your prayers during this trying time.

Samoa Joe continues to undergo therapy on his knee at a California based sports therapy clinic that also handles members of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Thus far the therapy has been positive, with the hope being that his MCL issues will heal and surgery won't be necessary. Joe spent several days not being able to put pressure on the knee but is now walking on it, although being on it for long stretches of time is painful. He's undergoing a number of therapeutic techniques including Aquatic therapy, which is done to allow him a chance to strengthen muscles while relieving the strain of bearing full weight on his knee. Joe will return to the ring at the 1/14/07 TNA Final Resolution PPV.

Kurt Angle is now listed as the top star for TNA in all of SpikeTV's media releases concerning the company.

As of right now, it appears that Midway Games' forthcoming TNA Impact video game will be the first pro wrestling game developed for the Nintendo Wii system.

Dave Whitaker sent word that Don West appeared on SpikeTV over the weekend as host for the network's James Bond movie marathon.

TNA announced details for their second volume of "The Best of AJ Styles" over the weekend on their official website.

TNA will announce their new British TV home on 12/28. One would think Bravo is the frontrunner as they carry a lot of SpikeTV programming. TNA denied comment when asked about the future of their British coverage.

BlogCritics.org featured a review of the feature film "Dead or Alive" which features Kevin Nash and is based on the video game at this link. The review isn't a positive one.
