WWC held their August 15 event, Summer Madness main event at the Pepin
Cestero Arena at Bayamon. Fan4ever reported the action as follow, stating that
there were 300 persons on attendance.
1-Angel defeated Zona Rosa.
2-Ricky Reyes defeated El Comandante.
3-Chicky Starr defeated Tommy Diablo and still be named King Of Wrestling. A
brawl all over the place, with Ricky Reyes coming in to help Chicky, but on the
process Chicky managed to escape from a hit by Diablo, so Reyes ended being
attacked. There in the confusion Starr pinned Diablo. After the match Ricky and
Tommy attacked Starr, with Diablo taking Starr's Golden Crown and proclaiming
himself as the new Wrestling King.
4-Shane The Glamour Boy retained the Puerto Rican Title when he defeated Ricky
Ortiz. Orlando Colon came in and sidekicked Shane, who resisted the pin attempt
and managed to avoid being pinned and ended doing a move to pin Ortiz on the
process. After the match Ortiz attacked Shane.
5-Idol Stevens & Sean Spears defeated Thunder & Lightning to become the new WWC
Tag Team champions. Moved match that saw Idol using brass knucks to knock
Lightning to score the pinfall and victory.
6-BJ wrestled Noriega to unify the Universal Title. Reported as a great match.
Action saw BJ jumping on Noriega outside the ring. Noriega and BJ brawled where
the fans were, with one fans using a metal walking cane against Noriega's back.
They still outside and used anything at hand. They entered to the ring and
Noriega began to dominate and went back to outside to attack BJ with the same
objects that were used against him. They entered back and traded offensive until
BJ was thrown to a corner and in the process knocked out the referee. Then
Noriaga applied his final move but there was no referee to do the count. Another
referee came in and count reached two. Noriega got a chair outside the ring and
knocked BJ and finally got the pinfall victory. The official referee saw what
really took place and told the second referee that his decision will not stand
as something he witnessed took place. The second one said he saw the pinfall.
Then commissioners came in and they decided that the titles will be held up
until a rematch is settle. An angry Noriega attacked Bj, got a sicssors and cut
some hair of BJ and left.
7-Ricky Steamboat Sr. & Ricky Steamboat Jr. defeated Orlando Colon & Hiram Tua.
Steamboar Sr. came in his hair black dyed. First segment of the match saw
Jr. being dominated for a while. Later they traded moves and was a well put
together match. Final segment saw Tua climbing the rope to do an aerial move on
Steamboat Jr. but there came Angel and punched him, so he lost his balance, so
Richie did his move and scored the pinfall victory.
