We start off with a look back at Backlash.
THE Judgment Day make their way to the ring, led by World Champion Damian Priest.
Damian starts off and mentions Jey Uso. Priest asks the crowd if they love him. Priest says France loved him too, but in the end, that didn't matter because he is still your World Champion. Priest says he wants to talk about what happened with THE Judgment Day at Backlash.
Finn says when he and JD apologized after Backlash, they meant it.
Priest says he is fine with that. He wants to discuss what happened after the match. Priest says that was on him. Priest says he lost his cool. You were there to make sure that he stayed champion. Priest says he is sorry and he thanks JD and Finn. Priest says he appreciates JD. He tells Finn that he is his brother and he hugs them.
Dom wants to join in the hug like Matthew wanting to join in with anything Bill does.
Priest says he is still the champion and they are the most dominant faction in WWE. Finn Balor is your next King of the Ring. Finn says since Drew isn't medically cleared, guess who gets a bye into the next round. Finn says that is the first step of the Prince becoming the King. Finn wants Samantha to come over . . .
Adam Pearce comes out and interrupts. He says Finn is confused. Drew is out of the tournament, but you aren't getting a first round bye. Adam says he runs Raw. Being crowned King fo the Ring is one of the biggest honors in WWE and you have to earn it. He tells THE Judgment Day to get out of the ring because what happened at Backlash isn't happening tonight. Adam says that Finn's opponent is Jey Uso.
Match Number One: Jey Uso versus Finn Balor in a King of the Ring First Round Match
They lock up and Finn with a rollup and he gets a near fall. Finn with a side head lock. Finn with a near fall and an arm bar. Jey with a double leg take down and a La Magistral for a near fall. Finn with a kick and he sends Jey into the turnbuckles. Finn with punches and kicks to Jey. Finn misses a punch and Jey with punches. Jey with a sunset flip but Finn rolls through with a drop kick because, in addition to Rey Mysterio, you don't sunset flip Finn Balor. Finn gets a near fall. Finn with kicks and he poses. Finn with a reverse chin lock. Finn with a forearm to the back and he holds on to the reverse chin lock.
Jey backs Finn into the ropes but Jey misses a punch. Finn with a chop and he sends Jey into the turnbuckles and follows with shoulders and a chop for a near fall. Finn with a punch. Finn cokes Jey in the ropes and Balor is sent to the floor and Jey with a suicide dive. Jey sends Finn back into the ring and Jey follows but Finn rolls to the floor so Jey goes back to the floor and he comes off the ring steps but Finn with a punch to the midsection. Finn sends Jey into the ring post and over the announce table. Finn stands on the table and he mocks the crowd.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Jey punches Finn on the turnbuckles but Jey takes too long for the final punch and Finn pulls Jey into the turnbuckles. Finn with punches on the turnbuckles followed by a chop and snap mare. Finn with a drop kick for a near fall. Finn with an elbow to the top of the head. Finn with a reverse chin lock. Jey with punches and Finn with a knee. Finn has punches blocked and Jey with punches of his own and he ends with a spit punch. Finn sends Jey to the apron but Jey with a round kick and a cross body for a near fall. Finn falls into the corner and Jey sets for the running hip into the corner but Finn recovers and hits a flying clothesline.
Finn with boots to the chest. Jey gets Finn on his shoulders but Finn with a rake of the eyes and a take down for a near fall. Finn sets for Sling Blade and Jey avoids it and Jey with a thrust kick and uppercut. Jey with a super kick and he goes up top for a frog splash. Jey misses and rolls through when Finn moves. Finn with a running drop kick to send Jey into the turnbuckles. Finn goes up for Coup de Grace but Jey moves. Jey with a spear for a near fall.
Drew McIntyre makes his way to ringside through the crowd.
Finn with a rollup for a near fall. Finn with sling blade and he sets for a drop kick. Jey with a spear for the three count.
Winner: Jey Uso (advances to face winner of Ilja Dragunov versus Ricochet)
We see Ivy Nile and Zoey Stark in the back preparing for their matches.
Becky Lynch walks in the garage.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Sheamus and Gunther will be the main event tonight.
We have a video package.
Adam Pearce and Drew McIntyre walk in the back and Drew complains about Jey taking his place. Drew says he would tape his arm up. Adam says that Drew talked about his arm and then the doctors looked at him and they said he wasn't cleared.
Drew leaves the building.
Another car shows up and it's CM Punk.
Pearce tells Punk he is late.
Pearce tells Punk he just missed Drew. Punk asks Pearce to have the truck play his music because he has something to say.
Punk walks past Alpha Academy and has some words with some other people in the back.
CM Punk makes his way to the ring.
Punk says it is good to be alive on a Monday in Hartford. He apologizes for showing up late. He says he got locked in at headquarters and when he got out, he decided to drive to Hartford. He also drove to get in a fight with Drew, but Drew has left the building. Punk reminds everyone about his promo from last week being shorter than Drew's title reign. Punk asks if they go over the time and he stays long enough for Drew to come back. You know Drew is scrolling through Twitter and he tells everyone to tweet at Drew that Punk is live and in living color. If Drew isn't a coward, he will turn around and he will come back to this building. On top of the ice that Gordie Howe skated on with the Hartford Whalers, he can get his ass kicked.
Punk says he will hold this show hostage and he says he would ask what they want to talk about, but that is someone else's deal. Punk asks if he can tell a story.
In the Royal Rumble, Drew DDTed him so hard that Punk tore the triceps off the bone trying to protect himself. Punk says he thought Drew ruined his Wrestlemania dreams. He had a great cry and a great surgery. Drew didn't ruin anything, he just postponed or delayed his dreams. In baseball, they call him a five tool player and he can do everything. He can do commentary and that is what he did. Punk calls Drew a tool.
For weeks and months, he tuned into this show and listened to Drew running his mouth saying he prayed for Punk to get injured. Drew picked a fight with the pettiest man on the roster, and maybe on Earth. Punk says he is going to make Drew's life a living hell. Drew went from 'I injured Punk' to 'Punk ruined my Wrestlemania plans'. He injured his elbow. He hates the way he talks.
Punk says all Drew does it talk about him. He sits like him. He wants to be like him. Punk wonders if Drew hates Punk or himself. Punk says Drew is a choke artist. He says he is the unintended consequences of Drew's actions. You prayed for this and Punk says he broke Drew's elbow. Next time, he will break Drew's face . . . and then his heart. All this praying you are going to do, and he does not know if Drew is a God fearing man, he proved that he is afraid on one three syllable thing . . . CM Punk.
Cathy Kelley is with Ricochet and she asks him about his match against Ilja Dragunov.
Ricochet says he is very aware of Ilja and everything he accomplished, tonight is his chance.
Braun Strowman shows up and Cathy asks why did Braun get involved with THE Judgment Day.
Braun says he won't let bullies do their thing. He says tonight is about Ricochet.
Match Number Two: Iyo Sky (with Kairi Sane and Dakota Kai) versus Natalya in a Queen of the Ring First Round Match
They lock up and Nattie with a wrist lock. Iyo with a reversal. Nattie with a wrist lock back drop for a near fall. Nattie with a waist lock. Iyo with a standing switch and Nattie with a standing switch. Nattie with a take down into a knee bar. Iyo kicks Nattie but Nattie sets for the Sharpshooter and Iyo kicks her away. Iyo with chops and forearms. Nattie sends Iyo to the apron and Iyo with a forearm. Nattie misses a baseball slide when Iyo leaps over her. Iyo misses an Asai moonsault when Nattie moves and Nattie kicks Iyo into the apron. Nattie gets a near fall. Nattie with a waist lock and Iyo with a standing switch. Iyo goes through the ropes and Nattie goes throat first into the ropes. Iyo with a springboard drop kick for a near fall.
