WHAT THE ROCK TWITTER PROMO REMINDS ME OF, WHY ROCK & CENA CAN'T WRESTLE WHILE SHOOTING MOVIES AND MORE

I have really loved the X promos from Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and I've never seen anything like it, with the footage intersperced as someone is giving a promo and effectively being their own narrator at the same time.  It's like a movie voiceover and I love it.  Is it the first time you've ever seen anything like this?

I absolutely love the Twitter promos.  They remind me of something ECW did many years ago with Shane Douglas.  They were out of original match footage to air one week, so they had Shane cut a promo that ended up being 35-40 minutes long and intersperced all the footage of what he was talking about.  The Rock promos remind me very much of that instance and given Paul Heyman produced the Douglas stuff and is involved in all The Bloodline storyline material, I have to wonder if there's a connective tissue there.

You reported the Rock likely can't do any physicality for WWE while he is shooting his next movie - WHY?  I thought the entire point of Endeavor buying WWE was to bring it closer to Hollywood?

No, Endeavor bought it to make money.

The Rock (and any other actor) that is hired for a prominent role in a film production is insured so that if something goes wrong and they cannot complete the film, the studio has a way of making back their investment.  As part of that process, those talents agree to certain terms of what they can and can't do while not on set.  For example, they may be prohibited from riding a motorcycle, because if they crash and are injured, they can't work on the film.  There's no way a studio wants The Rock taking bumps or working big matches when they will need him the next day, week, etc. on set performing, especially with something that looks to be a pretty physical role in portraying Mark Kerr, a MMA fighter.  Even if stunt doubles handle all the fight choreography, if he is hurt, Johnson can't perform, period.  Way too much money on the line, because if he goes down, the entire production shuts down, which means a lot of people are out of work they were depending on.  Endeavor owning WWE changes none of the process.

For the same reasons, John Cena isn't wrestling and really only returned to WWE last year for as long as he did because of the SAG-AFTRA strike.

Any update on the John Cena Coyote movie?

No, sadly, I don't believe we will ever see it.  As a huge fan of the Looney Tunes in general, I am really bummed about that personally.

Kevin Von Erich has been very complimentary of The Iron Claw, but if he had hated the movie, would they have changed it?

No, my understanding is that the film was written, produced and finished before the writer and director ever spoke with Kevin.  That was probably for the best when it came to the film-making process.

Do you think Kurt Angle ever regrets not going into MMA after leaving WWE?

No, not at all.  He may have gotten some big paydays, but by the time the opportunity came about, he was older and beaten down by the grind of pro wrestling.  There's zero doubt in my mind Kurt Angle is one of the toughest SOBs who ever walked Planet Earth, but I don't think he would have fared well at that point in his life - especially given all his neck issues that predated WWE.  In his prime?  I would have loved to have seen what could have been!
