HHH met with the press after Backlash.
He thanked everyone for being there. He thanked the Arena as well. And the biggest thing he wanted to do was thank the fans. He said WOW. He said he can’t ever remember sitting next to someone in Gorilla and couldn’t hear the person next to him, they were so loud.
He mentioned breaking the all time Arena record. 11,628 were in the house and he said that he doesn’t expect that this will be the last time they are in France. He said that this is the beginning of their international run. He mentioned the upcoming international dates, and there are many. He mentioned the other places on the tour, saying he heard that Italy was quite crazy so he will be looking into Italy. He said that when people ask him how they can get WWE events to their country, he said that you do it by doing what France did today, be loud and crazy. He mentioned that the Mayor in London, who wants to bring WrestleMania to his city, got reelected and he reiterated “let’s talk”.
He was very happy with the show, as he should be. He’s excited about the future. After the press conference, we will get the Mania announcement on Kentucky Derby coverage.
Questions started.
He was asked if there was one moment from the fans that stood out. He said he didn’t understand a lot of what was being said. For him the moment was the whole night. If he had to pick one, it would be Jey Uso’s entrance.
There is a 60K stadium out front of tonight’s building. Would they run there? He said all he can say is that he got a text from Nick Khan during the show and it said, “Stadium”.
An Italian reporter asked about them bringing a PLE to Italy. They will look into it. Since he already mentioned Italy, I think they have a shot.
He put over the talent and basically said the great talent makes his life and job easy.
He was asked about all of the things he has gone through, with his health and Vince, is how has the whirlwind been. He said that his job is fun and when it’s fun, it’s great. He said that when he can have days like today, it’s not stressful or hard. It’s the best and he loves doing it.
The last question asked about PWInsider and Fightful's report on the release of Drew Gulak. He was asked if it was true. Then the guy went on to ask about Ronda Rousey allegations against Gulak. HHH cut him off and said that he should cite credible outlets if he was going to cite them. I am not sure if was taking a shot at Fightful and us, or Newsmax where Rousey's comments were made about Gulak but it seemed to me that it was in response to the Newsmax report since he cut the reporter off right away. HHH said that Gulak wasn’t released. His contract expired and it was not renewed, so he is gone from WWE as reported. PWInsider.com had reported that he was released so we wanted to make the clarification here that in fact WWE allowed his contract to expire.
