I was walking through Times Square yesterday and there was a big wrestling ring set up next a giant hot dog.  Any idea what this was for?  Has this ever been done before?

I did not until you emailed me and in asking around, it was some sort of promotional event for Oscar Meyer hot dogs.  I believe WWE did a live event in Times Square to help promote Wrestlemania 11.

Any word why John Cena is in France?

Nope.  My guess is he's making an appearance at Backlash.  We should know in a few hours.

Any chance of WWE bringing back traditional Survivor Series matches as the undercard for the Wargames?  Maybe the Survivors advance to the cage?

I've written in the past about how I'd like to see WWE bring back that very concept for the show,  but I don't believe WWE will - and I don't see them doing elimination matches to advance to Wargames.  That's a match based on a big grudge, not random winners fighting.

Any good books on Memphis Wrestling?

There are a ton of books on the subject, including several by Mark James that reprint classic results and programs that were sold during Memphis' run under the "Memphis Wrestling History" banner. A number of Memphis stars have also released autobiographies over the years including Jerry Lawler, Bill Dundee, Jimmy Valiant and Jerry Jarrett.

Whatever happened to Richie Steamboat?

He retired due to injuries.
